Client Requirement
A client operating a ship loading facility required advanced bearing inspection services to assess the condition of critical structural bearings. The project required an efficient non-destructive testing (NDT) solution capable of completing phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) inspections without removing the bearings from service. Due to the size and weight of the assemblies, conventional inspection methods would require extensive lifting equipment, additional resources, and extended operational downtime. An in situ inspection approach was selected to minimise disruption while supporting ongoing asset integrity management.
Outcome
ARI completed advanced phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) inspections, enabling the condition of critical structural bearings to be assessed without removal from service. The non-destructive testing (NDT) program reduced the need for extensive lifting equipment and additional resources while minimising operational disruption. Inspections were completed in approximately 30 minutes per bearing, with digital inspection records retained to support ongoing monitoring and comparison across future inspection intervals.
